Anthony has 23 years experience in the security field, including work with the federal government and at one of the world's most prestigious museums.
He is perhaps best known for his investigative work in pursuit of paintings stolen more than 20 years ago in what still is the world's largest art theft. He has recovered more than 70 stolen paintings in the past seven years.
Anthony has been described as being "among the most effective museum security directors in the world" in the book Art & Crime. His own book, Stealing Rembrandts: The Untold Story of Notorious Art Heists, was a Wall Street Journal True Crime Best Seller.
Anthony earned a BA from the University of Rhode Island and an MPA from Harvard University. He is a Trustee for the Association for Research into Crimes involving Art.

Both agencies have estimated the trade in illicitly obtained art and antiquities to be valued upwards of $6 billion per year.
Therefore, it’s no surprise that cultural institutions across the world—including within the United States—are vastly under-protected.
